Privacy Policy for UltiBudget

UltiBudget is a personal budgeting, receipt, mileage, and workspace sharing app. Your data is stored on your device. If you choose to use iCloud sync or shared workspaces, your data is stored through Apple iCloud/CloudKit under Apple’s systems.

UltiBudget does not operate its own servers for your app data. UltiBudget does not store your budgeting, financial, receipt, trip, or workspace data on developer-controlled servers. The developer does not have access to your app data.

Information Stored in the App

UltiBudget may store information you enter, import, scan, or create, including:

• Workspaces, accounts, categories, budgets, bills, transactions, notes, reports, and settings
• Receipts, receipt images, and extracted receipt text
• Merchant names, aliases, and transaction details
• Vehicles, trips, mileage records, locations, addresses, and route details
• Bank alert text you provide through Shortcuts or App Intents
• Imported CSV files, store files, backups, and exported reports

This information is used only to provide app features.

Local Storage

UltiBudget stores app data locally on your device using Apple’s app storage systems. Some preferences and feature settings may also be stored on your device.

You control the data stored in the app. You can delete records, receipts, alerts, workspaces, or use in-app deletion options where available.

You are responsible for maintaining backups of information that is important to you. Device loss, app deletion, iOS behavior, iCloud settings, sync conflicts, import or export errors, software bugs, and user actions may result in records being changed, duplicated, corrupted, or lost.

iCloud Sync and Shared Workspaces

If you enable iCloud sync, selected app data may be stored in your private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit.

If you share a workspace, selected workspace data may be available to the people you invite. Shared users may be able to view or edit shared workspace data depending on the sharing permissions.

iCloud and CloudKit are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policies. UltiBudget does not control Apple’s servers and does not have developer access to your iCloud data.

Sync and sharing may not be immediate or error-free. Changes may be delayed, conflicted, duplicated, incomplete, or removed by users with access, device settings, iCloud account status, Apple service behavior, or network conditions.

Receipts, Camera, and OCR

If you scan receipts, UltiBudget asks for camera access. Receipt images and extracted receipt text may be saved in the app.

Receipt text recognition is performed using Apple on-device technologies where available. Receipt data may sync through iCloud only if you choose to use iCloud sync or shared workspaces for that data.

Location, Motion, Trips, and Mileage

If you use trip or mileage features, UltiBudget may ask for location permission, including Always location permission for automatic trip detection.

When enabled, UltiBudget may store trip-related information such as coordinates, timestamps, route points, addresses, distance, vehicle details, and trip status. Motion activity may be used to help detect driving.

UltiBudget may use Apple services such as Maps, MapKit, geocoding, and route calculation to support trip features. Location data is used for mileage and trip features, not for advertising or tracking.

Bank Alerts, Shortcuts, and Automation

If you use Shortcuts, App Intents, or bank alert automation, UltiBudget may receive and process the text you provide. This text may be stored locally and used to suggest or create transactions.

Shortcuts and Apple automation features are provided by Apple.

Purchases and Subscriptions

UltiBudget uses Apple StoreKit for purchases, subscriptions, and entitlement checks. Purchase processing is handled by Apple.

UltiBudget does not receive or store your full payment card details.

Imports, Exports, and Sharing

UltiBudget may import files you select, such as CSV files or UltiBudget backup/store files.

If you export or share reports, backups, receipts, PDFs, CSV files, or other data, that exported copy may contain your app data. Once shared or exported, the destination app or service is responsible for that copy.

Notifications and Live Activities

UltiBudget may ask for notification permission for trip-related alerts or Live Activities. Notifications may include trip status, stop detection, distance, or place-related information.

You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

UltiBudget does not sell your personal information.

UltiBudget does not use your data for third-party advertising.

UltiBudget does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

UltiBudget does not use the advertising identifier for tracking.

Based on the current app design, UltiBudget does not include third-party advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.

How Data Is Used

UltiBudget uses your data to provide budgeting, transaction tracking, account tracking, receipt storage, OCR, reports, bills, trips, mileage tracking, iCloud sync, workspace sharing, imports, exports, backups, notifications, and subscription access.

UltiBudget may use local processing to suggest merchants, accounts, categories, amounts, dates, and transaction details from receipts or bank alerts.

Automated or assisted features, including OCR, receipt parsing, bank alert processing, transaction matching, route calculation, trip detection, mileage estimates, reports, and category suggestions, may be inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, delayed, or mismatched. You should review important records before relying on them for taxes, reimbursements, accounting, budgeting, or other decisions.

Support Communications

If you contact support, your email address, message, attachments, and any information you choose to include may be used to respond to your request.

Do not send sensitive financial information unless it is necessary for support.

Data Retention

UltiBudget keeps your data for as long as it remains in the app, in your device backups, in exported files, or in iCloud/shared workspaces you use.

Deleted items may remain temporarily where needed for sync, backup recovery, or recently deleted views. Data exported to other apps or services is controlled by you and the destination service.

UltiBudget cannot control or delete copies that exist in Apple iCloud backups, device backups, exported files, shared workspaces, recipient devices, screenshots, printed copies, or third-party apps and services.

Security

UltiBudget relies on iOS security, app sandboxing, Apple data protection, and Apple iCloud/CloudKit security for local and synced data.

No app or service can guarantee absolute security. You should protect your device, Apple ID, and exported files.

Children’s Privacy

UltiBudget is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Processing

If you use Apple services such as iCloud, StoreKit, MapKit, or notifications, Apple may process data according to Apple’s policies and infrastructure, which may involve servers outside your region.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as UltiBudget changes. The updated policy will be made available in the app or on the UltiBudget website.
